I cannot stop listening to James Blake and Bon Iver's collaboration. Of course Justin Vernon's lyrics are weird and of course there are weird gospel undertones... but as a Rolling Stone critic so rightfully put it, "this is beauty for beauty's sake."

Lana Love

Ever since Lana Del Rey's album has been released, people have had many things to say about her- not all of them very nice as T Magazine points out in, "A Star is Born (and Scorned)."

BUT, while much can be said on the fact that maybe her father bought her success and okay, true, she went under the knife- What really makes a musician successful? Sure, its annoying that she basically has it all from the outside looking in but one thing is for sure: her CD has been on repeat in my car since the day it came out (I'm also now well versed in the lyrics to every song if you're interested...). And putting that into perspective; after long awaiting Coldplay's new album it lasted in my car about a week until I finally had to admit I wasn't in love. You know its good when you end up listening to it all the time, and everywhere- who cares if her lips are real or fake? The girl can sing.

Snow Leopard?

As spring approaches, I constantly have the same fashion debate: to buy white jeans, or to not buy white jeans? The problem is you run the risk of looking like you just came back from Martha's Vineyard but unfortunately the staple black jeans you wore all winter long just aren't going to cut it in the blistering heat (trust me). So finally, by some grace of god, I have found a pair of white jeans that have a subtle leopard print that don't make me look like a walking J.Crew advertisement. The picture doesn't do it justice, but these AG jeans are for lack of a better word: epic.

The Mad Hatter.

Everyone long awaits Marc Jacob's shows because you never know what's going to come next. As one tall hat rolled onto the runway after another, I couldn't help but think of the mad hatter from everyones beloved 'Alice in Wonderland.' The pictures that Garance Dore took bring you into a world that only Jacobs could produce- although I'm pretty sure Alice didn't look that good.

Valentines Day Obsessions.

I am seriously obsessed with this gown from Carolina Herrera's new collection. (Photo from style.com) Maybe its my new sequin fetish, but it's giving me butterflies everytime I look at it! 

On a more cheery valentines day note, I cannot stop listening to 'Somebody I used to Know' by Gotye. Festive! (Sense the sarcasm?)

Visible Panty Lines.

After what must be accounted for as the longest ten days of my life, I have successfully completed my internship at VPL and took part in the fall 2012 RTW fashion show. A long, exhausting ten days of hard work and determination and in 14 minutes of runway time suddenly things were very real and very well worth it. Behind all the glamour of twitter/facebook/instagram one can miss all the work that goes into the planning and production of a show. The truth? It's not all glam. Each designer puts their heart and soul into their clothes and those runway shows are them, very exposed, and very vulnerable. Overall: Amazing. And now, I am left to dream of owning every piece from the VPL collection.

To Cut, Or Not to Cut?

What do these three women have in common? (besides the fact they're all on Nasty Gal) Fine, ill tell you!!! They all are wearing this "cut-out" trend I am still trying to wrap my head around. I mean, the black dress is cute but the red dress has openings in areas I usually drape in material and dark colors as to hide from all people of the opposite sex. It's not that I dont believe that if you got it, flaunt it. But really, can't some things be left up to the imagination? I don't know if I'm ready to jump onto the cut off train but I will opt for a less 'revealing' option.

Aha! The shoulder cut out! And in mint green too? it couldn't really get much better at this point.. Oh right, except the fact that it's on point with SOMETHING being cut-out but I don't need to bare my side stomach to do it...
