The Little Things...

I spotted this picture on Vogue.com a few weeks ago and it took me a few seconds to realize what really jumped out at me: her two race-car rings. I'm not huge on costume-esque jewelry but for some reason, I honestly love these rings. They're so fun. Its amazing what a unique piece of jewelry can do to an outfit...

Even Cowgirls Get the Blues

I believe I am in love with Wildfox S/S 12.

These shorts are unbelievable. And the bow detail is perfect.

PORT OF MORROW: The Shins

"As you rise: rise from your burning fiat.
Go, go get my suitcase, would you?
You've thoroughly blown their mind.
And now I must have passage on the lines,
to the veins from your heart."

From The Shins, to Broken Bells, and now back to The Shins I couldn't be more excited for this CD's release. I mean for gods sake I downloaded the album before I brushed my teeth this morning (TMI?)

Currently can't stop listening to '40 Mark Strasse' and 'The Rifle's Spiral' (but I'm sure my favorite song will change 27 times in the next four days...)

My Favorite Color is.... Denim.

Looking for an outfit to wear this past Saturday, it occurred to me that my favorite color to wear is not in fact a color, but denim. Yes, this makes things weird as I love red shoes along with a good white t-shirt and the result is an awkward mix that resembles an american flag.

Worst part? I kind of like it. Even worse part? I dig overalls.

Jack Kerouac, On the Road

  • "I woke up as the sun was reddening; and that was the one distinct time in my life, the strangest moment of all, when I didn't know who I was — I was far away from home, haunted and tired with travel, in a cheap hotel room I'd never seen, hearing the hiss of steam outside, and the creak of the old wood of the hotel, and footsteps upstairs, and all the sad sounds, and I looked at the cracked high ceiling and really didn't know who I was for about fifteen strange seconds."

Arm Party for A Cause

Everybody loves an arm party (hellooo man repeller)... and what better way to add to it than a bracelet that goes to a good charity!

For $10 a piece, you can purchase a hand-made bracelet adorned with gemstones and crystals and you can specify the awareness ribbon color that dangles at the wrist. The best part? For each bracelet sold, half the proceeds go to Relay for Life which is an amazing cause!

Wannabe MK

Along with my current necklace problem (yes, I've been diagnosed); I also can't stop buying band t-shirts. Its probably my subconcious need to be like MK but nothing is more casually fashionable than throwing on a loose t-shirt paired with a huge necklace that makes it seem like your morning hangover couldn't stop you from making it to class in a cute outfit.

Necklace, Forever 21
T-shirt, Chaser LA (This brand is unbelievablely comfortable and has amazing designs!)

"From the center of my life, there came a great fountain..."

Last year I was sitting on the beach when a woman asked me if I was really enjoying "Eat, Pray, Love" because "isn't the author so damn whiney!" - in which my friend replied before I could even get the words out of my mouth: "You might not want to start with her, this is her fifth time reading it." Bible.

"But I felt a glimmer of happiness when I started studying Italian, and when you sense a faint potentiality for happiness after such dark times you must grab onto the ankles of that happiness and not let go until it drags you face-first out of the dirt- this is not selfishness, but obligation. You were given life; it is your duty (and alse your entitlement as a human being) to find something beautiful within life, no matter how slight."

“To lose balance sometimes for love is part of living a balanced life.”

Shadow Days

Its not that I dont love John Mayer and know the lyrics to every song... even the unreleased ones. I guess I just wasn't expecting to like this new single. The worst part about hating it? I'm loving it.

Marni for H&M

No Dad, today I'm totally not pissed that you made me go to school 300 miles away from any H&M so that I could miss out on the new Marni for H&M pajama set... Oh, and that unbelievable flower necklace they have. Yes, that Boscovs down the street maybe has some "great buys", but all I can hear is: "No Marni for H&M here m'aam."

Another Month, Another Catalogue.

Being plagued with the consistent winter cold that comes once a year and last decades it seems... There's not many things to be happy about. But wait, its March meaning.... new Free People catalogue!!! I'm already obsessing about which pieces I can see myself frolicking around in all summer long. And frolicking my people, is an understatement.

This is the Free People I fell in love with. Attention to detail, florals, aztec prints, lace trimmings and color..

Fashionisto

I have not been able to get over this picture since I spotted it on STREETFSN. I rarely pay homage to the fashionistos in the world on my blog, but I sure as hell appreciate them. I don't know what it is about this picture- but these men found the perfect "just threw anything on and grabbed a cup of coffee before the show" look. I guess I'm also partial to the fact one of them is a red-head. But seriouly, the camel coat duo gets me everytime (and the fact they're NY men! hello!) Either way, win-win.
