Nancy Botwin

As Weeds come to a close this season (alas, for good) I think its time to address my long obsession with the style of Nancy Botwin, aka Mary Louise Parker. First to address the elephant in the room; the dramatic change in hair style from season one to season two: thank god. The messy waves that looked like she just hopped out of bed really did some good for her look. Now, as someone whose watched the show from the beginning, not only have I fallen in love with Nancy (its really not that hard to do), but her effortless fashion. She's the bad-ass mom in loose cut off jean shorts, and that flowy tank you're just dying to know where she found it from so you can replicate the same outfit. And, there's something to be said about a woman who knows how to wear heeled clogs. While I hate to admit it, there are many-a-times I've looked into the mirror after struggling to throw something on and uttered "whatever, Nancy would wear it." I think it's about the same reason I bought myself a pair of clogs during season four but have yet to unearth them from the bottom of my closet...

Can you hEAR that?

They're amazing. Thank you Tom Binns. Grandma-style enhanced, a pop of neon. I don't even like earrings for god's sake!

The Little Things...

I spotted this picture on Vogue.com a few weeks ago and it took me a few seconds to realize what really jumped out at me: her two race-car rings. I'm not huge on costume-esque jewelry but for some reason, I honestly love these rings. They're so fun. Its amazing what a unique piece of jewelry can do to an outfit...

Lana Love

Ever since Lana Del Rey's album has been released, people have had many things to say about her- not all of them very nice as T Magazine points out in, "A Star is Born (and Scorned)."

BUT, while much can be said on the fact that maybe her father bought her success and okay, true, she went under the knife- What really makes a musician successful? Sure, its annoying that she basically has it all from the outside looking in but one thing is for sure: her CD has been on repeat in my car since the day it came out (I'm also now well versed in the lyrics to every song if you're interested...). And putting that into perspective; after long awaiting Coldplay's new album it lasted in my car about a week until I finally had to admit I wasn't in love. You know its good when you end up listening to it all the time, and everywhere- who cares if her lips are real or fake? The girl can sing.

The Best Accessory....

...is probably one that cannot be bought. Whenever I'm looking through my favorite blogs, I always am drawn to the pictures of friends who look fabulous together (The Sartorialist captures the best ones!). You can accessorize yourself to the best of your abilities but nothing beats that best friend looking just as great linking onto your arm. You can look good alone, but nothing like confidence in numbers...

TAYLOR TOMASI HILL

Besides the fact she's the style and accessories director for Marie Claire, she's basically the coolest redhead I've ever laid eyes on. One, shes a ginger. Two, she wears the funkiest necklaces and outfits I've ever seen. And three, did I mention she's a bad-ass ginger?

She even wore a shirt tied as a skirt to NYFW this year, is that even legal? She's beyond.
(as seen on: Garance Dore)
