As Weeds come to a close this season (alas, for good) I think its time to address my long obsession with the style of Nancy Botwin, aka Mary Louise Parker. First to address the elephant in the room; the dramatic change in hair style from season one to season two: thank god. The messy waves that looked like she just hopped out of bed really did some good for her look. Now, as someone whose watched the show from the beginning, not only have I fallen in love with Nancy (its really not that hard to do), but her effortless fashion. She's the bad-ass mom in loose cut off jean shorts, and that flowy tank you're just dying to know where she found it from so you can replicate the same outfit. And, there's something to be said about a woman who knows how to wear heeled clogs. While I hate to admit it, there are many-a-times I've looked into the mirror after struggling to throw something on and uttered "whatever, Nancy would wear it." I think it's about the same reason I bought myself a pair of clogs during season four but have yet to unearth them from the bottom of my closet...

Garance
This picture Garance Dore posted from her Australian Harper's Bazaar shoot is so amazing. Nothing screams New York street style more than furry pumps and printed pants.

Maison Scotch
Feeling pretty good about that sweater purchase today after seeing Maison Scotch Fall 2012... Funny how when its summer I'm ready for fall weather and vice versa.

If the sunglasses of Penny Lane and John Lennon had a baby , this would be the product of the procreation.

Heat Wave
Because I can't even think of putting on clothes in the heat, I've been sitting in a bathingsuit on the computer looking for some inspo... (Pictures from various sources: Sartorialist, Man Repeller, Dolce & Gabanna, Christopher Kane, Olsen Anonymous, TTH, Stella, Wildfox Blog, etc...)

Can you hEAR that?
They're amazing. Thank you Tom Binns. Grandma-style enhanced, a pop of neon. I don't even like earrings for god's sake!

Fiona Apple.
“The idler wheel is wiser than the driver of the screw,
and whipping cords will serve you more than ropes will ever do.”
and whipping cords will serve you more than ropes will ever do.”
Fiona is back. Seven years later, yes, but back and it was worth the wait. Apple is unafraid to share her most personal moments on the CD that resonates 42 minutes of her soul. The lyrics, the melody. I'm dying to take in every song.
