Basic Black is Back

Aint' it the truth that the most basic items seem the most impossible to find. Seriously... I've spent endless hours online looking for the perfect neutral black shoes to wear to work that are cute and comfortable. Yes, a combination of the two is necessary so you don't look like you threw on your grandma's loafers. Sorry, there is no excuse for bad shoes if you're working in NYC.
1. $89.90
I am a huge lover of boots, even in the summer (contrary to my mother's pleads...)These are from Zara, and uber comfy!!
2. $74.57
Sometimes you need a little more color, and ASOS offers an easy floral look.
3. $49.90
Another steal from Zara... I even have them myself! And, snakeskin is in!
4. $97.99
Okay, if you're really hurting and desperate for comfort... these are literally the perfect shoe for you. Birkenstock offers extremely wearable shoes, and the gladiator pattern is nice enough of work.
5. $99.00
Sam Edelman offers a look-alike Phillip Lim for under $100 with a  little heel that will make you feel good, as well as look good.
6. $124
And in case you're feeling wild, black sling backs from Top Shop.

For the Love of Sandals

Three years ago in intern desperation (you know... feet bleeding in 4 inch heels as you run countless errands all over NYC?) I popped into a store on Broadway to discover the perfect pair of black lace-up sandals. Since than, we've had a loving relationship... but this past week my shoe-repair man told me that my time was up. Now, I've spent the entire week in a frenzy searching for the best possible replacement at a reasonable price and let me tell you people, it aint easy. These bad boys are from Zara and the closest I've found to a worthy opponent of my beloved babies that I wish the shoe-maker could fix just this last time...

Snow Inspired

Naturally because it's snowing out, I'm crushing on a pair of platform sandals. Still thinking of an excuse on why its appropriate to buy them (Dad, dont read this)

INDIAN SUMMER

After a week of low 60's I finally brought my space heater up to Binghamton only to realize its been 80 degree weather for about a week. Have I mentioned the sandals I've been refusing to replace have finally ripped just in time for an Indian Summer (ouch). On the plus side I now can run out of the house without blowdrying my hair and calmly explain to my father that an Indian Summer is most definitely an excuse to buy more shorts.
